Terms of Service: Weather Today Platform Usage & Legal Agreement

Terms of Service agreements at Weather Today outline the rights, responsibilities, and meteorological disclaimers applicable to every visitor on our site.

CRITICAL LIFE-SAFETY NOTICE: NOT FOR AVIATION OR EMERGENCY EVACUATION

Weather Today provides atmospheric insights for general public information, academic research, travel planning, and personal convenience. Our platform is NOT certified for primary aeronautical navigation, offshore nautical piloting, or life-critical emergency management. During imminent hazardous events (such as tornadoes, hurricanes, tropical cyclones, flash floods, or blizzards), users must follow warnings issued by official government agencies (such as the US National Weather Service, UK Met Office, Japan Meteorological Agency, or Bangladesh Meteorological Department).

1. Acceptance of Terms and Scope of Service

By accessing, browsing, interacting with, or otherwise utilizing the services, data feeds, radar graphics, or predictive tools available at weatherstoday.org (collectively referenced herein as the "Service" or "Weather Today"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms in their entirety, you must cease use of the Service immediately.

These Terms apply uniformly to all visitors, users, automated indexers, and researchers accessing Weather Today worldwide. No oral agreement, conversational remark, or informal message shall modify or supersede the explicit provisions set forth in this document.

2. Permitted Use and Non-Commercial License Grant

Subject to your sustained compliance with these Terms, Weather Today grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, and limited license to access, view, and utilize the meteorological materials presented on weatherstoday.org solely for your personal, non-commercial educational and lifestyle planning purposes.

You may consult current temperature reports, view live precipitation radar visualizers, compare multi-city timelines, review 10-day outlooks, and check smart clothing suggestions. Any commercial exploitation, programmatic reselling, syndication of our styled graphics, or repackaging of our user interface as a paid subscription product without prior written consent from Weather Today is strictly prohibited.

3. Acceptable Use Policy and System Integrity Restrictions

To maintain the stability, responsiveness, and zero-ad accessibility of Weather Today for millions of users globally, you agree not to engage in any of the following restricted activities:

  • Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) & Rate-Limit Violations: Sending excessive automated inquiries, flood-requesting backend endpoints, or attempting to overload our Next.js edge caching layers.
  • Aggressive Scraping and Bulk Extraction: Utilizing automated scrapers, web spiders, or screen-harvesting scripts to systematically extract raw forecast databases, radar image composites, or reverse-engineer API proxies.
  • Circumvention of Security Features: Bypassing security firewalls, modifying HTTP headers to deceive origin verification, or tampering with client-side code execution.
  • Deep-Linking or Framing Abuse: Embedding Weather Today in third-party iframes, framing our pages to display unauthorized banner advertisements, or misrepresenting our content as your own proprietary meteorological system.

4. Meteorological Science, Numerical Prediction, and Inherent Uncertainty

Atmospheric forecasting is an applied science governed by fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and complex chaos theory. While Weather Today processes state-of-the-art computational numerical weather prediction (NWP) models—including the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), NOAA's Global Forecast System (GFS), and Germany's ICON model—no numerical model can guarantee flawless precision.

Localized convective phenomena (such as microbursts, isolated thunderstorms, flash precipitation bands, and sea-breeze fronts) can develop rapidly outside standard grid resolutions. Furthermore, live precipitation Doppler radar returns may exhibit beam attenuation, ground clutter, or normal radar propagation latency (typically 5 to 15 minutes). You acknowledge that Weather Today is an advisory informational platform, and atmospheric fluctuations remain subject to natural variance.

5. Intellectual Property and Open-Access Attributions

The look, feel, visual aesthetic, brand identifiers, logo artwork, custom UI code, Apple-grade frosted glass styling, and proprietary editorial analyses published on weatherstoday.org are the exclusive intellectual property of Weather Today and are protected under international copyright, trademark, and unfair competition laws.

We proudly attribute and respect third-party open-source and open-data foundations:

  • Map Tiles: Live radar maps utilize geographic base tiles provided by OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database License (ODbL).
  • Weather Data Feeds: Atmospheric variables are sourced in collaboration with Open-Meteo under open science licenses (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International).
  • Lucide Icons & Software Libraries: Open-source software dependencies utilized in our web client remain the property of their respective maintainers under MIT or compatible permissive licenses.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As-Is" Basis)

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE, ALL METEOROLOGICAL DATA, RADAR IMAGERY, HOURLY OUTLOOKS, SMART WARDROBE ADVISORIES, AND PLATFORM FUNCTIONALITIES ARE PROVIDED STRICTLY ON AN "AS-IS" AND "AS-AVAILABLE" BASIS.

WEATHER TODAY EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS, THAT ITS OPERATION WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, THAT SATELLITE RADAR TILES WILL RENDER WITHOUT OCCASIONAL TRANSMISSION DELAYS, OR THAT DEFECTS IN THIRD-PARTY DATA STREAMS WILL BE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY.

7. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL WEATHER TODAY, ITS OPERATORS, ENGINEERS, CONTRIBUTORS, OR AFFILIATED ENTITIES BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS, TRAVEL CANCELLATIONS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR PERSONAL INJURY) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, OR ANY RELIANCE PLACED UPON WEATHER FORECASTS, SEVERE WEATHER INDICATORS, AIR QUALITY SCORES, OR CLOTHING ADVISORIES.

THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE ALLEGED LIABILITY IS BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WEATHER TODAY HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE.

8. User Indemnification Obligations

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Weather Today, its operators, contributors, infrastructure providers, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or legal fees arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms of Service or your unauthorized use of the platform.

9. Termination and Suspension of Access

Weather Today reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without prior notice or liability, to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to the Service (or any portion thereof) to any individual, IP range, or automated entity that violates these Terms, poses a cybersecurity risk, or attempts to disrupt service delivery to other users.

10. Governing Law, Severability, and Entire Agreement

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with generally recognized principles of international commercial and civil law, without giving effect to any choice of law rules. If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful, void, or for any reason unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.

These Terms of Service constitute the entire agreement between you and Weather Today concerning your use of the platform. For legal inquiries or formal correspondence, please reach out to:
